Ran high-school cross country at Timpview High School in Provo, UT (1990-1994).

Ran one year at Ricks College (1994-1995) with Dustin.

Personal bests since 2009:

  • 5K - 19:15 (Renaissance Academy, 2010)
  • 10K - 38:52 (Dana Point, 2009)
  • Half marathon - 1:27:29 (TOU, 2010)
  • Marathon - 3:02:40 (St. George, 2009)

Short-Term Running Goals:

  • Break 18 (and 19) minutes in a 5-K
  • Break 38 minutes in a 10-K
  • Break 1:25 in a half marathon
  • Break 3:00 in a marathon
  • Finish a 50 miler
  • Run at least 5 days a week for all of 2009 and 2010 and 2011

Long-Term Running Goals:

  • Lifetime fitness
  • Qualify for and run the Boston Marathon
  • Run a mile in under 5:00 again
  • Do an Ironman triathlon (someday)

Personal:

Happily married to Laurel, have two wonderful children. Served an LDS mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Graduated from BYU in 2001. Worked for 5 years in Arizona. Recently completed graduate degree at University of Utah. Now working as a researcher for Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Ran tempo run. I bumped up the pace slightly a few weeks ago, and had struggled to do it. But this time I made it all the way through! I need to do it twice more and then I'll bump it up again.
