Tempo run on the treadmill. First mile at 8:00 pace. Second mile at 7:00 pace. Miles 3-5 at 6:30 pace. Mile 5-5.5 at 6:15 pace. Mile 5.5-6 at 6:00 pace. Cooldown mile at 8:00 pace.

Wasn't necessarily easy to keep these paces, but I wasn't breathing super hard. This was a good wokout to maintain sharpness but not strain myself too intensely.

Today was my lowest weight of the year by a small margin.

Good job Steve. How much weight have you lost? Just for fun I am going to use my STG marathon time/weight predictor. This is not based on anything scientific and has no real data to back it up.

Anyway this is how it works.

In 2004 my first marathon I was probably weighing between 155 to 157 on race day. Time was 3:07, but should have been 2:55-2:57, but I took it really easy since it was my first marathon.

In 2006 I weighed 146 going into the St. George marathon time 2:46

In 2007 I weighed 144- time 2:44 barely

In 2008 I weighed 148- crashed and burned. 3:07

May 2009 Ogden weight was 146 add 8 since Ogden is about 8 minutes slower than St. George based on Sasha's predictor. My time was a high 2:53 almost 2:54

Right now I'm weight around 147, 148 hoping to run low 2:40's

Sorry about all this rambling.

With your weight being 166. I'm predicting a 3:06 marathon for you. Which would mean qualifying for Boston with room to spare.

Hi Dustin, I think I've lost 20-22 pounds now. But I'm not exactly sure what I was when I started, so I don't know for sure. Your numbers seem pretty predictable. I read in runner's world that losing 5 pounds equated to a 5-6 minute improvement in the marathon. So that seems similar to what you have experienced. A 3:06 would be great for me.
